Hearthstone — Twitch Rivals Team Arena Challenge

Following what became a tradition, each new Hearthstone expansion has now its own Twitch Rivals— with twelve teams coming from NA and Europe facing up. The new Arena format allows regular competitions evolving within a constantly changing meta.

Hearthstone — Twitch Rivals Team Arena Challenge

Twitch Rivals were back in Hearthstone on August 27 for a Team Arena Challenge! Three weeks after Saviors of Uldum initial release, the meta of the Arena had changed quite a lot, meaning the twelve teams coming from North America and Europe had to adapt to a lot of new cards and play styles.

Each team was composed of three players, but the overall level of the tournament was quite unequal. While some teams put together three Grand Masters — Fenomeno, BoarControl and Purple for instance — other ones were just gathering of streamers and influencers.

In a similar fashion to the previous edition, each player from each team had to complete three Arena runs with the best possible score. After six hours, all players' scores were added together to determine the final standing of the team. The tournament then entered its second phase, opposing the four best teams of the previous phase in the same format.

Without that much surprise, the NA team 1 — including Grand Masters Muzzy, justsaiyan and hunterace — reached the second place of the podium. However, the team who made the headlines and reached the first place — the NA team 5 lead by dreads — was solely composed of streamers. The last place of the podium is taken by the EU Team 2 lead by attrix.
