Thanks to the short demo of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands shown to for players attending Anaheim for BlizzCon 2019, we were able to learn more about how death works in the Shadowlands — the new continent introduced in this expansion.

In Shadowlands, Spirit Healers will be physically present, unlike what we have known so far. In addition, the greyish filter that covers Azeroth upon death disappears in Shadowlands. Instead, a short animation is triggered and we find ourselves teleported to a Spirit Healer.
After joining the Spirit Healer, we find ourselves transformed into a spectre rather than a will-o'-the-wisp (for Night Elves) or a ghost for other characters. However, the objective remains the same: to find our corpse.
