The GO Battle League, which was teased a few months ago, is finally making its debut in the Pokémon GO mobile game. If fighting with friends or against trainers was already available, we're now talking about a real online competition system. Soon available for level 40 players, this feature allows you to fight against players from all over the world, increase your ranking and earn rewards.
The feature will be available to all players as we go along, within a week.
How do I join the GO Battle League?
In order to activate the feature, you'll need to walk a few miles! Only 3 times a day, you will be able to unlock 5 matches online (and thus 15 matches a day). To unlock 5 matches, you have to walk 5km.
In addition, you can use the "battle now" option by spending a few coins. This allows you to access the fight without walking.
How battles are working?
The matches with world ranking will take place on specific dates and according to the three available leagues (great, ultra and master). Before being able to participate in the first season of GO fights, there will be a pre-season.
- Great league: coming soon
- Ultra League: Monday, February 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST.
- Master League: Monday, February 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST
- Great League: Monday, March 9, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST
Rewards
By fighting, you can win many in-game rewards. The higher your victory rate, the higher your rank and the more rewards you will earn. The maximum Rank to achieve is Rank 10! Here are some of the rewards you can earn:
- Stardust
- Rare Candy
- TMs
Pikachu Libre
To celebrate the arrival of the GO Battle League, new customization items will be available for your avatar. Be careful though, they will unlock according to your ranking, as a reward. In the same way, it will be possible to catch a Pikachu Libre.
