After a long wait, we finally know more about Pokémon HOME. Here's what we know, including pricing, Pokémon Bank compatibilty, the National Dex, and more.

Pokémon HOME is announced as the central hub between all game versions of the Pokémon franchise. After Pokémon Bank, Pokémon HOME will be the place where your creatures will be stored.

The Subscription Package

In Pokémon HOME, you'll be able to pay for a subscription that gives you a number of benefits.

The differences between a Basic and Premium account

Please note that for most players, you will have to go through the premium account in order to have access to all the features since the free version will limit you quite a bit. The GTS will be back with the arrival of the Pokémon HOME application.

Now let's talk about the price of the subscription.

The different versions of Pokémon HOME

Pokémon Sword and Shield

Pokémon HOME will have two versions. The first on Switch and the second on mobile. The Switch version will be compatible with the following games:

  • Pokémon Sword
  • Pokémon Shield
  • Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee
  • Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu

Both versions will be compatible with Pokémon Bank. Compatibility with Pokémon GO is planned, but will not be available at launch;

You will need to synchronise your games with Pokémon HOME to transfer your creatures. In addition, to celebrate the release of Pokémon HOME, one month of Pokémon Bank will be available. This will allow you to retrieve Pokémon from older versions of Pokémon HOME.

Trades

With the application, you'll be able to trade your Pokémon in a variety of ways, which we'll explain below.

The Wonder Box

This feature will allow you to trade your Pokémon for other monsters at random. This is a reminder of the Miracle Swap available in the various games.

The Global Trade System (GTS)

As we said earlier, the DWG will definitely be there. The return of this feature allowing to exchange with players around the world. Unlike the Miracle Swap, the GTS allows you to choose which Pokémon you want to get or get back.

Group exchanges and exchanges between friends

Group exchanges allow you to exchange in a group. It is possible to create one with the premium account otherwise you will just be able to participate.

Friend Trades allow you to trade with your friends on Pokémon HOME. You can add people as friends through the application.

National Dex

Pokémon Sword and Shield

This version of Pokédex will give you all the information you need about your favourite creatures. From Mega Evolutions to Gigamax, all shapes will be available in addition to the descriptions of the different games.

In addition, the mobile version will give you access to the skills that can be learned and also to the different talents.

Mystery Gifts

The mobile version of Pokémon HOME allows you to obtain mystery gifts for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, as well as Pokémon HOME-specific gifts. It will also be possible to obtain codes to use in games to obtain rewards such as items.

The Judge Pokémon

This feature lets you know the iVs of your Pokémon. Please note that this is a feature exclusive to the premium account.

This menu will allow you to see your HOME points, your friends, your achievements and also the different announcements related to the games and competitions.

Battle Data

The mobile version allows you to have all your information concerning your participation in internet competitions.
