Diablo IV: Barbarian Abilities
The on-site playable demo, streams and conferences have let us discover the majority of the Barbarian's skills. As always, please keep in mind that all of this is likely to evolve between now and the final release.
Skills are divided in a similar way to Diablo III, by category, with a default location in the shortcuts. However, it's possible to override this system and take several skills of the same type, and/or assign them wherever you like.
Skill damage and some of the effects of the skills change with their level, unfortunately we don't have information on what they do at each level.
Basic (left-click)
Bash - Fury Generation: 9
- Strike the enemy with your weapon, inflicting X-X. Has an X% chance to stun for X seconds.
- Requires a blunt weapon. Inflicts Physical damage.
Flay - Fury Generation: 9
- Flay the enemy, inflicting X-X and bleeding for X seconds.
- Requires an edged weapon. Inflicts Physical damage.
- Vulnerable enemies take 30% more damage until all their vulnerable life is removed.
Frenzy - Fury Generation: 5
- Unleashes a rapid burst of blows, dealing X-X with each pair of blows. Your attack speed is increased by X% for X seconds, up to X%.
- Requires weapons in each hand. Inflicts Physical damage.
Lunging Strike - Fury Generation: 9
- You rush forward and strike an enemy for X-X.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
Fury (Right Click)
Rend - Fury: 25
- Splits the enemies in front of you, inflicting X-X and bleeding for X seconds.
- Requires an edged weapon. Inflicts Physical damage.
Hammer of the Ancients - Fury: 20
- Hit your hammer on the ground with the fury of the Ancients, inflicting X-X in a concentrated area.
- Requires a blunt weapon with both hands. Inflicts physical damage.
Double Swing - Fury: 25
- Sweep your weapons in opposite directions, inflicting X-X with each weapon. Enemies in the center are hit twice.
- Requires one weapon in each hand. Inflicts Physical damage.
Upheaval - Fury: 30
- You tear up the ground with your weapons and throw debris forward, inflicting X-X.
- Requires a two-handed weapon. Inflicts physical damage.
Whirlwind - Fury: 5 per second
- Quickly attack nearby enemies for X-X by moving around.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
Defensive (1)
Rallying Cry - Generates: 18 Fury - Recharge Time: 20 seconds
- Push a rallying cry, giving allies the Unstoppable Effect, X% additional movement speed, and X% reduction in damage taken for X seconds. Inflicts Physical damage.
- Unstoppable: Effects that affect character control are removed and blocked.
Ground Stomp - Generates: 6 Fury - Cooldown: 15 seconds
- Strike the ground, stunning nearby enemies for X seconds.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
Undying Rage
- Passive: When you take lethal damage, you have X seconds to fight for your life before you die. Killing an enemy in time revives you and heals you for X.
- This effect can only occur once every X minutes.
Challenging Shout - Recharge Time: 25 seconds
- Gives you the fortified effect for X and provokes nearby enemies for X seconds. During this time, you generate X extra Fury when you are hit.
- Fortified : Characters take 30% less damage until their fortified life section is depleted.
Combat (2)
Kick - Recharge time: 20 seconds
- Strike an enemy for X-X and repels him. During the collision, enemies in the area suffer additional X-X.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
War Cry - Generate: 11 Fury - Recharge Time: 25 seconds
- Shout a loud battle cry. You and your close allies deal X% additional damage per nearby enemy for X seconds, up to X%.
Leap - Cooldown: 15 seconds
- Jump forward and hits the ground, inflicting X-X on impact.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
Charge - Recharge Time: X seconds.
- Jump forward and pushes enemies to the ground, dealing X-X on impact.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
Weapons mastery (3)
Primal Axe - Recharge time: 20 seconds
- You launch your weapon with a chain attached, inflicting X-X and drawing the enemies towards you.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
Rupture - Recharge Time: 10 seconds
- Skewer enemies in a straight line, inflicting X bleeding for X seconds. If an enemy dies during bleeding, the recharge time resets.
- Requires a two-handed edged weapon. Inflicts Physical damage.
Death Blow - Recharge Time: 15 seconds
- Performs a deadly strike, inflicting X-X on the enemies in front of you. If it kills an enemy, the cooldown is reset.
- Requires a two-handed edged weapon. Inflicts Physical damage.

Ultimate (4)
Wrath of the Berserker - Fury Generation: 30 - Recharge Time: 60 seconds
- You become Berserk for X seconds. Each slice of X Fury spent increases the effect by X%.
- Berserk increases your damage by 25% and your movement speed by 30%.
Call of the Ancients - Recharge Time: 75 seconds
- Call the Old Ones to help you in battle for X seconds.
- Inflicts Physical damage.
Iron Maelstrom - Recharge Time: 50 seconds
- You swirl your weapon around with a chain, inflicting X-X every time.
- Requires a two-handed weapon.
- Inflicts physical damage.
