Summer can finally start in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Put on your Wet Suit and dive head first into this turquoise ocean! If you don't know how to get a Wet Suit and swim, follow the guide.
First step: buy a Wet Suit
If you don't have a Wet Suit, you will be unable to enter the water. It's not a bug but simply a mandatory criterion. Don't panic, it's easy to get one.
- You have the choice to go: at the Nook Shop, or at the Residents' Office (Town Hall) on the Nookstop terminal
- In the tool cabinet, flowers, gift wrap and other Timmy and Tommy stuffs, you can then buy a Wet Suit. There are several colors, so don't hesitate to come back every day to choose one you like.
- At the Nookstop terminal, go to the Nookshop and choose the "Novelties" tab. You can then purchase a Wet Suit for 800 miles. Please note that you will not receive it until the next day by post.
- Once purchased, put on your Wet Suit via your inventory or a dresser at home.
Simple accessory not compulsory, you can also buy a Mask & Snorkel to perfect your outfit.
Second step: in the water!
Now that your Wet Suit is put on, you can access the ocean. Just walk on the beach and head to the water: your character will enter when you press A. Otherwise, you can opt for the big dive (or the bomb) directly from the Pontoon of your island.
Third step: shellfish hunting
If the update allows you to swim in the ocean, it especially allows you to catch new sea creatures at the bottom of the water. You will then see more or less large shadows appear in the depths.
- Press Y to dive head first into the water.
- Swim with the Joy-Con and press Y as soon as you are close enough to the shade
- Once the sea creature is caught, your character will go up on its own to show you the loot
Here you will find the full list of sea creatures available in Animal Crossing Switch.
Fourth step: meet Pascal
Going up from the Scallops, you will have a chance to meet Pascal, the philosophical sea otter. He will then want to exchange your scallops for craft plans from the Mermaid Collection.
You will find below the full list of Mermaid Furniture available.
Step five: bring your finds to the Museum
There will be no new exhibit dedicated to Sea Creatures in the Museum. On the other hand, algae, shellfish and other crustaceans will be welcomed in the various basins already present. Your goal? Obviously catch them all!
