Reebok is releasing sneakers inspired by Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. What are some other footwear crossovers?

Even though the newest Assassin's Creed is set in England's dark ages, that hasn't stopped Reebok from coming up with a very modern collection of shoes to coincide with the game's release.

Reebok and Ubisoft said the new collaborative collection features "three footwear styles in exclusive colorways inspired by the northern lights" and comes out on November 7.

Reebok is not the first to capitalize on a video game's popularity to sell footwear, and they won't be the last. Here are some of the best collaborations over the years.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla X Reebok collection

There are three different styles of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla inspired Reeboks. The Zig Kinetica, Club C Revenge, and Classic Leather Legacy. All three say "Like a Viking" on them and feature familiar AC logos throughout.

The Zig Kinetica was inspired by the darkness of the Nordic night. The developer describes it as "black molded-mesh upper, built around its distinctive zigzag-shaped, energy-return sole in emerald sea."

The Club C Revenge has a silhouette of a twin battle axe, and the Classic Leather Legacy is retro-inspired and embossed with a raven on the heel.

The Nintendo Authentic collection

The Nintendo Authentic collection from Vans was a great throwback in the video game footwear space. They sported designs from 8-bit games like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong.

The 8-bit Mario shoe was a tie-dye affair with pixel versions of Mario, Goombas, mushrooms, and power stars. The bottom of every shoe said "Game Over," and the tongues had unique designs. The Mario design featured the cover of the original NES cartridge.

The shoes are no longer in production but they can be found on sites like eBay and Amazon. Be warned they are not cheap.

Sonic and sneakers go together like peanut butter and jelly. These particular beauties are for people who have little sonics running around the house and want them to learn that they gotta go fast. There's a smiling sonic on the side of the Puma swoop, along with a blue mesh pattern and some lime green accents.

There are a few others like a pink pair featuring Amy Rose, but these really stand out.

The Super Mario 64 RS-Dreamer

Inspired by one of the most important video games ever released, the RS-Dreamer is an understated basketball shoe that favors function over overt design. It's subtle in its inspiration but obvious in its color scheme of red and blue, Mario's main aesthetic.

The tab on the tongue of the shoe says Super Mario, and there are stars on the back, but otherwise, they could be mistaken for just another pair of basketball shoes. The interior soles have a winged Mario and the game's logo. They are very popular and hard to find.

These high-tops have some of the best features of the bunch. Created in collaboration with basketball player Paul George, the 2.5s are grey like the console and have light-up tongues. The iconic PlayStation shape logo seen on the controllers is prominently displayed on the shoe.

The bottoms are frosted and there's a strap on the top. The original PS logo is on one of the tongues as well, with the Nike swoop on the heel.
