You need lots of money in Monster Hunter Rise in order to craft armor and weapons. Discover the best ways to collect zennies through Expeditions and Mining in this guide.

Depending on how you play, you can run out of money very quickly in Monster Hunter Rise. Fortunately, the game has several ways to make a fortune in record time when you know where and what to look for. This technique also works for collecting huge amounts of Kamura points.

Preparation

First, you need to build gathering-optimized gear by combining pieces of armor from the beginning of Novice or Expert mode. The talent you absolutely need is Geologist 3, but you can also take the opportunity to add other useful talents like Botanist 4 to make a versatile set of harvesting equipment. Talismans and Jewels can also help you. The Geologist 3 talent will allow you to harvest more ore and bonus items.

As for the Buddies, you either need a Palamute for fast movement and a Gathering class Palico to optimize performance or 2 Gathering Palicos, which will instead require you to make very intensive use of your Wirebugs.

Finally, eat some Dangos at the Canteen. What interests us, in this case, is the Dango Harvester since it accelerates the speed of reappearance of rare harvest points.

Expeditions and Bonuses

Next, go to Grand-Camp and check out the Expert Expeditions (or the Novice Expeditions if you are just starting the game). See the second page of the expedition description, in the "Environmental Info" section. To make a fortune, you need the "Bonus: Ore" mention. Please take note that "Local items" are for Kamura points. Lava Caverns are suitable for this type of farming.

If the Ore Bonus isn't available, you can choose to go on another expedition that has it, or just do any mission to refresh the expeditions and their bonuses. The first quests are perfect for this since they can be completed in less than a minute with a Gathering Set.

Mining

Once your preparations are done, go to the Lava Caverns area in Expert mode. The ore lodes will all glow white, so they will be profitable and give you up to 12 ores in one go, which you can sell for gold in Kamura. Be careful, the environmental bonus lasts only 10 min on average (8 to 15 minutes), then it will change. This will give you the time to go around the area 2 or 3 times to exploit as many mines as possible. By default, the mines reappear in about 4 minutes, so it's the ideal length to go around the area to the first lode you mined.

When the bonus ends, go back to Kamura and sell the ore collected during your expedition. Depending on your performance and luck, this can range from 200,000 to 500,000 zennies in about 10-15 minutes. For reference, the route dedicated to Kamura points gives about 30,000 to 50,000 points.

Bonus: Cohoot's Nest

Perched at the top of the trees in Buddy Plazza, your friend Cohoot's nest fills up with useful items as you hunt. Remember to make a quick trip up there every 3-5 hunts to loot its contents. This includes useful Chestnuts to speed up the activities of your Buddies. In this case, we are interested in the 3 variants of eggs that can be found there: steel, silver, and gold. You can then sell them in your chest for good money. If you've already made a habit of searching the nest, a big fortune may be waiting for you.
