Your equipment is an essential asset in Biomutant. Sometimes it will allow you to resist the terrible effects of pollution, sometimes it will strengthen your statistics in combat. The crafting menu allows you to modify your armor and weapons but also to craft formidable ones.

Biomutant Guide: How to craft weapons and armor

Crafting in Biomutant allows you to modify your weapons and armor or even craft new ones. To make your own weapons, you will then need many components found in the open world or on mobs. You will unlock the crafting menu after about an hour of play, in your Childhood Village, with Gizmo.

If you have any questions regarding the main storyline and the game's side quests, do not hesitate to consult our complete walkthrough.

How to craft a weapon in Biomutant

Each weapon is made up of several levels

  • Weapon base: To begin with, you will need to find a base for your weapon. This base will determine the type of weapon that you will manufacture according to your fighting style (melee or distance). For melee, you can then choose between a blunt, one-handed or two-handed sharp weapon.
  • Handle: you will then have to select the weapon handle of your choice. Be careful, all components cost money and have a rarity.
  • Addons: melee or distance, many other elements can be taken into account such as the magazine or the cannon for example.
  • Finish Crafting: Once you've chosen the items, you can check the weapon's rarity level at the top of the screen, its quality, predominant material, and stats on the right. If it's okay with you, you can start manufacturing.

How to improve the equipment

Just like weapons, it is possible to craft or upgrade equipment. By killing enemies or loot chests, you will find modifications. These are to be integrated into your items in order to increase their statistics. To do this, all you have to do is select an armor or item of clothing, press an empty box and add a modification to it.

For example, the jacket below has four modification slots.

As you can see in the official tweet below, the possibilities are almost endless:

Be careful, the limit of materials possessed in your inventory is 99. So remember to recycle the parts that you do not use.

Where to get modifiers

Via a multitude of side quests, it is possible to recover various ultimate modifications that will be very useful to you during your adventure. So you can either decide to rush the story, or take your time to craft the best equipment. Here are some examples of ultimate modifiers found in side quest rewards, puzzles, or chests:

Before fighting, regularly think about accessing your Inventory and selecting better equipment: some weapons and armor are only equipable from a certain level.
