Biomutant Guide: How to upgrade the Automaton

The little grasshopper that accompanies you everywhere on Biomutant is in reality an automaton, and it is possible to modify both its appearance and its functions. We tell you how to do that in this guide through the Old World quest and notice boards.

Biomutant Guide: How to upgrade the Automaton

The Automaton has been with you since your earliest childhood in Biomutant. Its Old World technology makes it a powerful communication device, but it also has many features that are useful for your adventure. In addition, it is possible to change its appearance to bring a little more fun in this post-apocalyptic world!

How to modify the appearance of the automaton

  • The Quest for the Old World

To find the different skins, you will need to complete the quest for 15 display panels. Entitled "Automaton Notice Board", it will ask you to find 'Old World Lore' via 15 notice boards. By finding a sign, a short cutscene explaining the cataclysm and the current pollution will be played. Your Automaton will then show you the way to a reward: most of the time it's a skin.

This side quest is triggered logically at the start of the adventure as soon as you interact with your first billboard (there is one just before meeting Out-Of-Date for example)

Tip : go to your Journal and to the Annexes tab to activate the quest if you haven't already. This will allow you to see in which direction to find the signs.
