Biomutant's post-apocalyptic open world is pretty big. So much so that some places on the Map are difficult to access and require special tools such as the Googlide or Mjut, but also mounts allowing you to glide. If this is not a necessity, flying a few meters will allow you to go from one area to another more easily or avoid crashing to the the ground.
There are currently three ways to hover or fly a short distance in Biomutant:
- Use the Automatone with the "Wing" function
- Unlock Sol's Trunk
- Unlock the Batnam-nam
How to fly with the Automaton in Biomutant
This is the easiest way to fly in the game currently since you will have to use the green grasshopper that accompanies you from the start of the adventure. Gliding is a feature of the Automaton that you can get when you successfully complete Mirage Battles (the famous flashback battles). Once unlocked, go to your menu and select the desired function.
Where to find Sol's Trunk
Better than a flying carpet, once equipped as a backpack, will allow you to glide over long distances. To get it, you will need to talk to the NPC Sol who is at the Aerodrome in Sector 11K.
Be careful, however: if you want to access this part of the map, you must first complete the Lobo side mission, located at the Blimpstation in sector 9J.
How to unlock the Batnam-nam in Biomutant
To unlock it, you will have to complete all of Pebble's side quests. Pebble will also help you improve the Old World Klawbar. Once the tool has been improved, talk to her again to unlock the rest of the missions.
As a reminder, Pebble is located at Knack Hill, just next to the Sknapptrutt Outpost, in sector 7D.
Upon completing the mission to find and secure the three climbing walls, Pebble will give you a new mission titled "Pebble's Zipline Tests". Again, you will have to find three ziplines (yellow ropes often between two cliffs or two buildings) and test them.
- The first zip line is located next to the Junk Depot in Sector 8E
- The second is next to the Murkadorpus Outpost in sector 5D,
- The third and last zip line is at Shaftiloo in sector 6H.
Return to Pebble and a new mission called "Find a path to the Nest" will automatically activate. It is this side quest that will allow you to find the Batnam-nam. You just have to take the climbing path behind it again to climb the cliff. After a few jumps and a zipline, you'll come across the Batnam-nam and can use it as a flying mount.
