You'll come across a multitude of animals to tame as you explore the world of Biomutant, but which ones are really worth your attention?
There are two types of mounts:
- The ones you can tame with Pips, or buy at the market (optional),
- The ones you get through the main quest (mandatory).
The mandatory mounts and vehicles like the Mekton, the Googlide or the Mjut are much more important. These mounts allow you to acquire new powers each time.
Of course, don't hesitate to buy mounts or to tame them, as it'll allow you to progress faster.
The five best mounts in Biomutant
As said before, several mounts will be available to you during the main quest. These special mounts have their own summoning button — a useful shortcut that saves you from selecting the mount from your long list.
Except for the 3 mounts that you will get during the main quest — two special mounts can only be obtained through side quests:
- The Mekafingro
This mysterious mount will be given to you during Murk Puff hunting quest. The Mekafingro is located in the Mekastadium in sector 11D. Go inside the huge greenhouse to get the mount and bring it back to Whiz.
To activate the mount, you will have to complete a rotating puzzle.
-
The Mekton
The Mekton is very easy to obtain (just follow the Jumbo Puff main). Very practical, this exoskeleton will allow you not only to shoot with powerful firearms but also to breathe in deadly zones (hypoxia).
- The Mjut
You will get the Mjut during your quest to hunt the Hoof Puff. This mount, armed with a grappling hook, will allow you to break walls and open certain passages.
Note: this main quest will also give you access to the Mekamjut.
-
The Pee-Wee Gargantua
This very important mount is unlocked during a side quest with Gill. However, you'll need to unlock the Googlide to access Gill.
- The Batnam-nam
To unlock this very useful mount, you will have to finish all of Pebble's side quests, as it will allow you to upgrade your crowbar. Once the tool is upgraded, talk to Pebble again to unlock the next missions.
Pebble is located at Knack Hill in sector 7D.
The Batnam-nam is not the only way to fly in Biomutant, however. Here's our guide dedicated to this feature:
Other mounts
Find the Pips around the beast. It's usually, located in a shrub near the mount. You must then bring it to the mount to be able to ride it.
Or, you can also buy them from a merchant.
Note that some achievements can only be unlocked under certain conditions of use of the mounts.
