Monster Hunter Rise: Heart of a Warrior Event Quest

Defeat a Goss Harag and Magnamalo in the new Monster Hunter Rise event quest, to obtain a fresh new set of titles.

Monster Hunter Rise: Heart of a Warrior Event Quest

A new event quest was added to Monster Hunter Rise on May 13. This rank 3 quest, "Heart of a Warrior", consists of hunting a Goss Harag and Magnamalo to obtain a fresh new set of titles.

Monster Hunter Rise

To get the quest, you need to talk to Senri the Mailman, by selecting the Add-on Content. Make sure you have installed the 2.0 update before trying to download it.

The quest takes place in the Arena and lasts about 50 minutes. It will require you to hunt Goss Harag and Magnamalo.

  • The Goss Harag is relatively static compared to other monsters. He uses his massive fists to fight like a brute. When he is blue, he is relatively calm, using his fists. Avoid standing in front of him.
  • When enraged, his skin turns red and he is more vulnerable to damage. He gains a powerful long-range frost blast that he always uses twice in a row. The first blast sweeps vertically at long range. The second sweeps horizontally. If you're far away from him, it's best to move even farther away to be out of range. If you are close, go for his flanks to attack his arms or his back.
  • The Magnamalo's main feature is his purple fire, which it can apply by throwing waves of projectiles with its tail, and its powder clouds and explosions. A purple flame icon will appear above your life bar. If you let it afflict you for too long or if you are hit by certain attacks, it will explode and probably kill you. You can get rid of it by using a wirebug twice.
  • This won't just make it disappear, but it will leave purple flames on the ground instead. If a hunter or the Magnamalo comes into contact with it, its explosion will inflict damage on them. So, you can use it to inflict some damage on the monster and give yourself a chance to stagger it, or even make it fall.
Goss Harag

A monster who is native to ice-cold climates. Covered in fur so thick it keeps out the harsh frost, it roams the snowy plains in search of prey. It can inhale the cold air to freeze its own bodily fluids and then spit them out to create icy blades on its arms. When riled up, the Goss Harag turns red and becomes exceedingly dangerous.

A monster with carapace-like tempered steel armor. The vapor around it is actually the expelling of trapped gases from the hordes of monsters Magnamalo has consumed. This has earned it the moniker "Wyvern of Malice." Its shrouded swings can inflict hellfireblight, which causes one to combust either spontaneously or when hit. Use a Deodorant or a Wirebug to rid yourself of hellfire.

"Hey, Squirt! We've got ourselves a little quest that'll determine who's the strongest hunter. My zenny's on you, but we'll see! All ya gotta do is go and smack around a Goss Harag and Magnamalo in the Arena and these titles are yours! Think you're up to it? Well, go get to it! Bwahahaha!"

By completing this quest for the first time, you will have the opportunity to obtain 10 fresh new titles.

  • Spearheader
  • One Clean Cut

  • Haggard Warrior
  • Dreadnought
