As always, make sure you heal up at the Pokémon Center before taking on the Gym Leader.

Crasher Wake only has Water-type Pokémon, just like the Swimmers who block your path to him. Bear in mind the following:

  • Grass and Electric type Pokémon are super effective.
  • Steel, Fire, Water, and Ice-type moves will not be very effective.

Whatever you do, don't use Fire, Rock or Ground-type Pokémon, as these are weak to Crasher Wake's Pokémon.

If you chose Turtwig as a starter, this will be ideal, especially as it should have evolved by now and be levelled quite a bit.

Others include Roselia, Luxio, Staraptor, Cherubi, and Misdreavus.

When it comes to battling Crasher Wake, be mindful that Water-type Pokémon can be rather tanky. This is especially the case for his Quagsire and Gyarados. Roserade will be ideal for Quagsire, while Luxray is perfect against Gyarados.

Be mindful that Floatzel has Ice Fang, a strong move that can do some damage.
