Just picked up Leona in Wild Rift and need a few pointers? Don't worry, just read on for our guide and you'll be a master of support in no time!
Runes
Although she is also capable of protecting her allies, Leona's main job is to engage the enemy and apply crowd control. Aftershock is absolutely mandatory for this reason, since it ramps up your defensive capabilities after an engagement.
In red, Weakness increases damage dealt to any target you've applied your CC to for a few seconds.
As Leona is a great roaming support, Hunter - Titan and Pathfinder are perfect. You'll get health and tenacity based on takedowns, and increased movement speed between lanes.
Skills
Here is the optimal skill order. Max out the abilities as outlined in the graphic below, though make sure you rank up your ultimate whenever you can.
NOTE: Start with either Shield of Daybreak if up against a melee support, or Zenith Blade if you're up against a ranged support.

Main Items
The items you buy in game will vary heavily from match to match, depending on what composition the enemy team is running.
We've put together a list of the most important items for Leona, ranked by their effectiveness. Items in bold are must-have items that you'll opt for in most, if not all, of your matches on this champion.
Tips & Tricks
- When Leona comes into contact with enemies, the defensive bonuses of Eclipse will last no less than 6 seconds. This is a huge amount of time, so don't hesitate to cast this spell even before using Zenith Blade to close the gap to the enemy.
- Against melee enemies, work on your Auto Attack > Shield of Daybreak > Auto Attack sequence, since Shield of Daybreak behaves like an auto-attack reset.
