Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. How and why to tame critters in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Some Dreamlight missions will sometimes ask you to feed a critter their favorite food. It's actually the little animals that roam around the village. Each animal depends on the biome you are in and each species has different colors and food that it particularly likes.
- Squirrel : only at the Esplanade
- Hare : only at Prarie Tranquille
- Turtle : only at the Enchanted Beach
- Crocodile : only at Bayou de la Confiance
- Raccoon : only in the Forest of Courage
- Sparrow : only at the Sunny Plateau
- Fox : only in the Frozen Heights

Taming a Critter by giving it the right food will then allow you to receive a reward : a dream shard, money or even a bag that can contain a pattern, furniture or clothing. You can only feed the same Critter once per day and have a chance that by doing so, it will then be accessible as a companion in your wardrobe.
Feeding an animal does not guarantee you to have it in your Collection. You have to repeat the experiment several times.

For the moment, there are only 8 different biomes in your Village and therefore 8 species of critters to tame. Each species contains up to 6 different colors. Note that pets exclusive to Founder's Packs or Starpath are not included in the Collection and are purely cosmetic.
