Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we are going to focus on Ariel.
Introducing Ariel, the Little Mermaid
Warning: The Little Mermaid is an animated film released in 1989 and is inspired by the tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen, published in 1836. We are told the story of Ariel, daughter of King Triton and mermaid, who only dreams of one thing: to transform into a human to live on earth. She will meet the evil witch Ursula with whom she will make a deal: her beautiful voice against human legs. On earth, she will fall in love with Prince Eric without being able to tell him since she is mute now.

Unlock Ariel, her house and her rewards by friendship level
In order to unlock Ariel, you will need to complete the quest "The Mysterious Wreckage" of Goofy! This will give you access to a small island where you can find the mermaid and convince her to come and live in your kingdom.

Ariel's house is to be built at the edge of the water on the Enchanted Beach.
Below are the rewards Ariel gives you at each friendship level. Level 10 is the maximum you can reach. Then, it will no longer be useless to make him gain experience, but it will always be more advantageous to take him to accompany you on an excursion since his bonuses will be higher.
Important : in the game as in the film, Ariel has the particularity of being able to be both a mermaid and a human. Just like Ursula, at the beginning of the adventure she can only be found in the water and cannot have a job or accompany you on excursions. The only way to increase her friendship level is to give her her 3 favorite gifts a day and have a daily chat with her. By unlocking Eric through Ursula's final quest, you will be able to complete another mission that will allow you to return Ariel to human form in order to find her more easily in your village.
Like any other character, Ariel will offer you to follow Story quests to advance the scenario but also Friendship quests.

Story Quest 1
Once after fixing the mysterious wreckage with Goofy, climb on it to reach a new island where you will find Ariel in the water. Talk to her then return to Dreamlight Valley to make her live here.
The missing prince
Friendship Quest 1 - Level 3
Many conditions are necessary to be able to unlock this quest: you must have advanced a little with the characters Maui, Kristoff and Donald, but also unlocked the Bayou biome of Confidence. Talk to Ariel so that she confides to you that Eric, her prince, misses her terribly. You will need to ask Merlin, Maui and Kristoff for information.
Search Kristoff's house to find expedition journals that are in his house (Forest of Courage, Ice Palace), on the library table. Give the book to Kristoff then return to the Enchanted Beach to find clues.
You have to go next to the mysterious wreck, where there is a large rock in the shape of a skull and fish in the white bubble circle next to it. You will find a statue face of Eric . Show it to Ariel and then bring it to Kristoff to find out how to fix the statue. You'll need to get another piece of the statue from Kristoff's house, still in his house's library.
Then go ask Donald about the statue.
The third piece of statue is in the Bayou de la Confiance, at the water's edge, buried in the ground. Regarding the last piece, you have to go ask Scrooge for it. Be careful though, you will have to give him 5 Peridots in compensation (you can easily find them by mining the rocks of the Prairie Tranquille or the Enchanted Beach).
Now that you have collected all the pieces, you will have to repair the statue of Eric via your workbench in the "furniture" tab. Then place it, using the menu, at the bottom of the large stairs of the Enchanted Beach. You will then find a Souvenir at the foot of the statue which will show that Eric has made a contract with Ursula. It is precisely by completing the witch's quests that you can recover it.
Baba pullers, gadgets and things
Friendship Quest 2 - Level 7
It is important to have advanced with Wall-E to complete this quest. Go talk to Ariel and then to the little robot so that the two characters exchange collectibles. Wall-E will give you a storybook and tell you where to find the other items:
- The spinning top is in Donald's house, on the bedside table to the right of the bed,
- The Gramophone is in Minnie's house, on the dresser to the left of the pink couch,
- The kitchen whisk is in Remy's house, on the bar,
Give all the items to Ariel who will then ask you to craft a crafting station for her with the following materials:
- 40 sand (upgrade your Pickaxe to be able to collect large quantities of it by breaking the corals on the Enchanted Beach),
- 20 hardwood (easily found on the floor of the Bayou or the Forest),
- 10 Scallops (collect the sky blue shells on the Beach),
- 10 gold ingots (find gold by mining rocks in the Sunshine Plateau, Forgotten Lands or Frozen Heights, then craft ingots via the workbench),

3 Aquamarines (by mining the rocks of the Beach or the Forest)
If you can't find enough scallops, you can find some on the Mysterious Shipwreck Island or in Moana Kingdom. Otherwise, collect all the resources on the Beach and wait a few minutes for the Scallops to reappear.
Once the materials are gathered, build Ariel's crafting station via your own workbench in the "furniture" tab then give it to the mermaid.
The old door
Friendship Quest 3 - Level 10
You must have advanced with Moana, Ursula and Merlin to unlock this quest. Ariel has found a mysterious door in the Mystic Cave and asks you to investigate with it. Talk to Merlin about the stone slab she has and complete the puzzle simply by following the directions:
- Perfect Joy: Ariel herself will fill the rune,
- Burning passion: you have to go see Rémy and his passion for cooking,
- Overflowing enthusiasm: it's about Moana,

Boiling anger: it's obviously Ursula
Once the 4 runes have been activated, go to the Mystical Cave of the Enchanted Beach (the one behind the pillar) and go down to the very bottom towards the pond and the famous stone slabs where you placed Mother Gothel's torches. The door is on the right.
Open the door and pick up the magic crystal to give it to Ariel and complete the quest.
In early access at the moment, Disney Dreamlight Valley has countless activities and a pretty colossal lifespan. However, many features, present in the game, are currently inaccessible. Let's do a check in !
