In WoW Classic, there are only three available battlegrounds: Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, and Alterac Valley. However, the process required to join them is much more complex and restrictive than in Battle for Azeroth.
Battlegrounds will not be immediately available at launch, as noted in our Content Roadmap. Though we don't yet know when they will arrive, battlegrounds will be introduced in the following phases:
- Warsong Gulch: Phase 3
- Alterac Valley: Phase 3
- Artathi Basin: Phase 4
Warsong Gulch
Warsong Gulch is a 10v10 Capture the Flag battleground. It is located in the forested border between The Barrens and Ashenvale, and pits the Warsong Outriders against the Silverwing Sentinels. To join, players must be at least Level 10 and should talk to their faction's dedicated NPC:

- Kurden Bloodclaw in The Apothecarium in Undercity
- Any Warsong Emissary in a Horde Capital
Alliance
- Elfarran in Stormwind Keep in Stomwind

Arathi Basin
Arathi Basin is a 15v15 resource race battleground. It is located in Arathi Basin and pits the Forsaken Defilers against the League of Arathor. To join, players must be at least Level 15 and should talk to their faction's dedicated NPC:

- Deze Snowbane in The Valley of Honour in Orgrimmar
- Martin Lindsey in The Spirit Rise in Thunder Bluff
- Any Defilers Emissary in a Horde Capital
Alliance
- Lady Hoteshem in Stormwind Keep in Stormwind

Alterac Valley
Alterac Valley is a 40v40 PvPvE attleground. It is located in Alterac Mountains and pits the Frostwolf Clan against the Stormpike Guard. To join, players must be at least Level 51 and should talk to their faction's dedicated NPC:
