The Second Boss

Venoxis

Abilities: Holy Wrath, Holy Nova, Holy Fire, Poison Cloud, Renew

Location: In a room at the West (2)

Type: Beast/Humanoid

Strategy

The second and easiest boss in the raid, Venoxis is flanked by four serpents which must be kited away from the boss straight away.

You should try to clear the entire room of mobs as you'll need all available space. In addition, the boss must be tanked away from the rest of the raid to dodge Poison Cloud and to prevent Holy Wrath from bouncing from player to player. Make sure that you dispell Renew from the boss as soon as he casts it on himself.

Phase 1

Venoxis should be pulled away from the raid and placed next to the bonfire (be careful not to position him out of line of sight of the DPS & Healers).

While this is happening, the offtank should aggro the other four serpents while the rest of the DPS slows and AoEs them down (Freezing Trap, Frost Nova,...).

Once the serpents are dead, it is essential that every melee DPS stops attacking the boss to prevent Holy Wrath from bouncing between your players. To prevent the boss from healing himself and dealing damage, your Hunters, Priests, and Warlocks should mana drain the boss. As soon as he is out of mana, all melee DPS should engage the boss.

Phase 2

At 50% HP, the boss will transform into a serpent and reset aggro. You should leave enough time for your tank to build threat and your DPS should only reengage the boss once your tank has regained aggro.

Throughout this phase, Venoxis will throw Poison Clouds on the ground which deal heavy nature damage to all those who linger inside. The tank should therefore re-position the boss to allow the rest of the raid to fight it without having to stand in the clouds to do so.
