Sam Porter's equipment is paramount in Death Stranding and in particular the one that will be the subject of this article. During your journey, you will have the opportunity to unlock several exoskeletons, however the Power one is by far our little favorite. It's also the first one you'll unlock.
Unlock the Power exoskeleton
Continue your journey west. The NPC that will provide you with this equipment will be the Engineer. Deliver some cargo to him and he will unlock the blueprint. You can increase your rank with him to unlock the improved versions of the Power exoskeleton.
Craft resources
Manufacturing this equipment will cost you the same stock of resources, whatever its level. Here are the materials needed to make the Power exoskeleton:
- Resin: 160
- Ceramics: 120
Features
The principle is simple, the Power exoskeleton will allow you to support much heavier loads without tiring, greatly simplifying your movements on steep terrain. As usual, you will still have to keep 10% to 15% of the maximum "free" weight, so that Sam doesn't get tired too quickly. Here is how much your maximum load will be, once you have the exoskeleton equipped (the base on our Porter is 145kg):
- Level 1: 265kg (584 lbs)
- Level 2: 295kg (650 lbs)
- Level 3: 325kg (716 lbs)
This equipment works with a battery, which will consume even more quickly when you run. Finally, the Power exoskeleton removes all the leg cargo spaces.
