Questions were being asked about the format for the next Fortnite World Cup. Last year we had a mixed cup, with both solo and duo formats. In 2020, the developers' choice seems to have been the Trios. This file, extracted by the French dataminer Yanteh, is proof of this.
The information is of course still to be taken cautiously because, at the time of writing, Epic Games has not confirmed anything. It should also be noted that the above file is only partial and that other game mode are also mentioned (solo and duo). Indeed, it is hard to imagine how the World Cup could not include the solo mode, so emblematic and specific to BR.
Pro players are still quite divided as to the choice of the best competitive format for Fortnite. The squad (teams of 4) is clearly not unanimous and had raised a lot of eyebrows in the community during the last FNCS season, but the Duos and Trios modes each have their defenders.
