Named as the best fighting game title at the recent Game Awards, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have introduced its next character in a Smash Direct.

It's finally Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses who joins the cast of Super Smash Bros Ultimate!

The Direct also revealed that there'll be a second Fighter Pass with 6 new characters.

Nintendo, via its Twitter account, has just announced the release of a 35-minute Smash Direct on Thursday 16 January at 14:00 (UK time).

This Nintendo Direct will be entirely dedicated to the next character to join the roster, and will of course be presented by Masahiro Sakurai, director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The opportunity to learn all about this new fighter, whose identity remains unknown for the moment.

We will officially discover the new character this Thursday, with a trailer, gameplay sequences, the new stage and the music that will accompany it.

As a reminder, this character is part of the Fighter Pass (DLC).
