Fortnite confirmed the bug fix via a tweet: "We released a fix to address players being able to phase through their builds. Thank you for your reports!"
Fortnite has been experiencing many construction problems in recent weeks. In the previous patch we had a bug that allowed us to go through stairs. With update 11.50 that's possible again as now you're able to go through walls. You just have to be in the construction when it's finished. A bug which remains quite situational — given the difficulty of the positioning — but which can be used very quickly by informed players.
During the last bug of this nature, a hotfix was deployed to quickly fix the problem. We could expect the same reactivity for this one.
