On Saturday, March 14, the Valve platform broke a new attendance record with 19,728,027 people connected simultaneously at around 7:00 AM (PT).
It didn't take long for this new record to be broken as 20,313,476 players were logged in on March 15 at around 7 AM (PT) — about 500,000 more players than the previous day.
Due to the closure of all non-essential businesses and the confinement, Steam has seen its servers overrun by millions of players desperately looking for a change of scenery. No doubt that other platforms will have have the same success.
This isn't likely to stop any time soon, with the upcoming releases of big titles such as DOOM Eternal and Animal Crossing on March 20.
