The Grandmasters circuit, the highest stage of the Hearthstone esports community, is about to resume with the first season of 2020!
Last January, Blizzard announced approximate dates for the two seasons, but we do know now that the first one will begin on April 17!
Two new French people have joined the Grandmasters Europe! Both Felkeine and Zhym qualified and joined Swidz at the highest level.
Blizzard had already announced their arrival in April, and even if we have to wait a little more than a week, they are all close! The second season will start next August.
Each season will include 8 weeks of matches with a renewed structure. The format will vary during the first weeks and the 16 players from each of the three regions ( Europe, Americas, and APAC) will compete against each other, allowing them to accumulate points based on their results. These points will make it possible to delimit two divisions by region.
During the following weeks, players from each division will compete in a Round-Robin format, as in previous GM seasons . In the 8th week , playoffs will take place and one player per region will be qualified for the World Championship this Fall.
3 players from each region will be relegated at the end of the first season to be replaced by the 3 players who have won the most prizes in the first three Masters Tour of 2020.
As a consequence, we already know that XBlyzes will inevitably be there to represent Europe.
