In Overwatch, there are many player profiles. If women are quite present on the streaming side, or in the many professions linked to gaming and esports — like Salome Soe "Soembie" Gschwind Penski who is desk host — professional players are unfortunately quite rare. Only one is currently in the Overwatch League, Geguri, who joined Shanghai Dragons in 2018. As for Contenders, women are a little more numerous, but still in the minority.
Gabriela "Win98" Nacaratto Vieira is an Overwatch Support player who has been playing in T2 since 2018 with her team-mate Leonardo "Shinigami" Scoralick. The pair is considered one of the best DPS-support duos in South America. Before joining Dignity, she played for Fury which is an Australian team based in South America, and with whom she had very great results.
After winning the Contenders Trials twice — with two different teams — Win98 finished second in the 2019 Contenders, coming very close to the consecration by losing each time to Lowkey Esports.
In 2020, Win98 joins Dignity. In Season 1 Week 1, they stumbled on the final step of the podium, finishing second behind And They Say. That didn't stop Win98 and her teammatesto secure a well-deserved first place. Thanks to its two excellent positions, Dignity will be a mandatory presence in the Playoffs for the 2020 Contenders South America.
The 17 year old has become the first woman to win the Contenders. She was nominated for the Brazil Esport Award (Prêmio eSports Brasil) as Best Overwatch Player.
