League of Legends fans, worry not: the European competitive scene is about to resume.
The LEC will return on June 12 for the kick-off of the Summer Split, as it was planned, but Riot Games just announced that the finals won't be played in Malmö, Sweden.
The news isn't really surprising given the current COVID-19 pandemic. Although several European countries managed to flatten the curve of the outbreak, the threat is still really present — and the sanitary measures taken by most governments to prevent a second wave aren't likely to be lifted before the end of the Summer Split.
As a consequence, Riot teams are currently working to find another way to end the season in panache...
Riot Games also announced that the LEC studios will gradually reopen during the first week, but only to welcome back the staff. The teams and players will keep playing online from the facilities of their organizations until further notice.
