The launch of Valorant is in a little less than a week and the hypotheses concerning new content, the 11th agent, or even reworks of those already present are blooming in the community. Omen was already changed slightly in terms of his physical appearance and some of his abilities, at the end of April.
One of the developers responsible for the design of the agents, Riot Morello, gave some clues during his stream last weekend. He particularly addressed changes that would impact Jett, Omen and Viper.
For Jett, Morello clarified that "we want to increase his reliability. In addition, we don't want his Dash to be used in this way. It's supposed to be a tool to escape, and not a combat tool. For this, we plan to increase the duration of the Cloudburst ability or just by reducing the overall cost of skills."
He then continued on the future rework of Omen.
"We will first update the targeting of his Dark Cover ability. Then his Paranoia will also be buffed to just make it better. In addition, we will modify his ultimate ability, but all I can tell you is that this is a buff in my opinion. Finally, we will not touch his teleportation in the next patch."
He notably talked about the fact that Viper will undergo changes, but not in the immediate future
"We are going to make changes to Viper, but this may take a little more time than for the others. We want to have time to be able test and get it right. "
Finally, clues for a future agent were leaked by Morello. When answering a chat question related to Sage. he said "[Sage] is a staller, she was never Healer, it is not in her identity and I think we will add a Healer class in the future."
Indeed, Sage's ultimate ability allows her to resuscitate one of her allies, which makes her very precious in the team. But in view of the developer's response, it is very unlikely that this concerns the agent that will be introduced in the next patch.
All this information shows us that the Valorant development team remains sensitive to feedback from the community, and will not hesitate to modify what is necessary in the future.
