Gauntlets, labs, events, release schedule for the new expansions, many new features have been announced for Legends of Runeterra.
Gauntlet
A new way to show your skill in LoR is coming! A temporary competitive mode that will allow you to use your collection of cards. Gauntlets will all have new rules and offer unique rewards.
Winning a Gauntlet seems to be the same as winning an expedition and will require sevent wins. The first one is announced as a classic one to make sure Riot Games can test and balance the new game mode.
Labs
These experimental game modes will change the rules of the game. Everything is possible in this game mode. The mode is intended to be less competitive than the Gauntlets.
The first Lab will take place in July and will highlight Heimerdinger ! Unprecedented alliances of unpredictable strategies and even the possibility that the action begins from round 1 will be there.
Events
In July, LoR will see the arrival of its first event! From time to time, events will take place on the game on a certain theme, with new cosmetics, quests, even a Gauntlet or a Lab.
During the event, each player will have access to exclusive rewards unlockable while playing! A pass will also be available in the store to unlock even more rewards.
New cards in 2020
In order to make the game more exciting and versatile, more cards will be released more frequently for the game. Every two months, a new expansion should rise bringing new content..
The next expansion, in August, will add a new region, as well as cards for all regions. Then, with each time 2 months apart, new cards will come out. Six months after a region, another will be released, followed by two more expansions, and another 6 months after, a third region.
And that's not all !
Other new features are planned for 2020 like the In-game leaderboards or the spectate system.
