Valorant is the new FPS game developed by Riot Games released in early June. It's completely free but it has a shop where you can buy cosmetics with real money. You can find weapon skins, tags and exclusive cards.
Once acquired sound and visual effects can also be added, but only for the player who owns it. Since this weekend, a new pack has appeared: the Sovereign Collection. It's the effect of one of these skins that's problematic.
The editor announced the deactivation of the upgrade levels for the Sovereign Ghost skin, because "a bug where its third-person firing audio was playing unsilenced (making it gameplay impacting, even if negatively)".
Additional content such as weapon skins is a purely aesthetic addition, and visual and sound effects mustn't impact other players in any way. That's why its upgrades have been disabled until the next patch.
Riot Games has been responsive to ensure the fairness of its game. However, no date has been set for the return of the upgrade levels nor the next patch at this time.
