Epic Games took advantage of the launch of Chapter 2 Season 3 to further adjust the aim assist in Fortnite. This feature — whose purpose is to put controller and keyboard/mouse players on an equal footing — has been the subject of controversy for many months, especially on the competitive scene.
Keyboard/mouse veterans have complained that the controller aim assist is too impactful and creates inequalities in-game.
Wishing to keep the cross platform aspect of Fortnite, Epic Games is trying to gradually adjust the efficiency of the aim assist. One of the changes observed with the switch to v13.00 is another controller aim assist nerf on PC.
The figures correspond to a decrease in the target's attraction force, on which the whole concept of aim assist is based. A very similar modification had already been applied via Patch 12.61.
Despite appearances, these changes are still very small: a casual gamer will hardly notice the difference, and only professional gamers might notice the change. Fortnite's big competitions are about to resume, and we'll see if the controversy around the aim assist remains despite these balances.
