The news is quite surprising, but, regarding their recent results, something had to be done to save the team. Currently holding the last place in LCS, with no victory to their record, Immortals started the 2020 Summer Split just like they ended the previous split: with difficulties.
Although most transfers and moves usually concern players, Immortals decided to bring a quite different change to their roster by replacing their Head Coach and their General Manager. As a consequence, the organization parted away with Thomas "Zaboutine" Si-Hassen and Keaton "Keaton" Cryer.
The decision seems a bit abrupt since the end of the season is still far away, but it's not a total surprise either with regard to the results of the French coach. Beyond the current segment, which started off very badly, the previous seasons weren't very successful either.
While waiting to fill these vacant positions, Mike Schwartz, former general manager of Overwatch's Los Angeles Valiant, will take over the management of the team. Adrien "GotoOne" Picard is appointed as the new Academy coach, but Zaboutine's position is still open for replacement
Zaboutine started his career as a caster for the French WebTV O'Gaming, and we can imagine that he might return to the analyst desk. However, with the experience he built over the past two years, another organization might very well offer him a position...
