Street Fighter V: Daigo Umehara qualifies for Capcom Cup

He's a legend on the Fighting Game scene. Daigo Umehara, aka "The Beast", winner of numerous tournaments and the most famous EVO semi-finalist in 2004 on Street Fighter III, qualified for a major Street Fighter V tournament, the Capcom Cup, at the end of the Capcom Pro Tour Online.

If you know this name, it's perhaps thanks to the video (which you can see below) of his comeback in the semi-final of this very EVO 2004. Ken's mastery of the game is totally unbelievable. Since Daigo has played more Yun, Ryu and Evil Ryu, but it's now with Guile that he performs since 2017.

The 39-year-old Japanese player has proven with his Guile that he is always in shape and that age isn't a factor in whether or not he succeeds in a tournament. A very experienced player, he has very often been at the top of his game, regularly reaching the top 10 in many tournaments for several years.

Nevertheless, he still has a long way to go to regain his former level. He will have at heart to show all this at the next Capcom Cup to which he has qualified.
