You've just learned the imminent release of the PS5, with the opening of pre-orders and a lot of launch games announced during the conference. But now, you're maybe a bit lost. Why is there a console 100 dollars cheaper than the other? Which one should you buy?
We explain why this significant price difference was applied to the Playstation 5 models, just below.
Differences between standard PS5 and PS5 digital edition
It's very simple: the standard one has a bluray player, while the digital version doesn't. And this simple thing will still have serious consequences on the way you buy video games.
Buying the PS5 Digital Edition will not allow you to access the second-hand market, regular discounts from retailers and even more generally to the competitive game prices on new releases. Remember that the PS5 exclusives will be offered at $ 79.99 by the manufacturer, a price that owners of the reader-friendly edition will be forced to accept if they wish to launch, for example, the remake of Demon's Souls or Spiderman: Miles Morales.
So, for who the Digital Edition suits well? To players who only launch their machine for one or two games a year, such as the famous annual Call of Duty or FIFA franchises to play with their friends for a few weeks before letting it sleep until the next batch.
For regular players, eager for new features and exclusives, who plays dozens of hours, we strongly recommend that you opt for the standard version and wait if it' is no longer in stock at retailers.
