It has been reported that over half a million Activision accounts have been breached. This is a major problem, especially for those with their bank details linked to their respective account. With hundreds of thousands of players advised to change their passwords, Activision has commented on the suspected breach.
Activision tweeted claiming that "the Call of Duty Activision accounts that had been compromised were not proven." With no real proof that any form of breach took place, the advice to all players is to change their passwords immediately.
An investigation regarding the issue is likely to take place in the coming weeks. To avoid any problems, it is recommended to:
- Change password
- activate two-factor authentication
- Unlink Battlenet, PSN and Xbox accounts
