Like every year, Halloween is celebrated on Pokémon GO! With the return of Spiritomb and other costumed Pokémon, check out the special quests, rewards, and bonuses you can get this year. Galarian Yamask is also here!

Pokémon GO Halloween 2020 Event is now live

From Friday October 23, 2020 at 6 p.m. PDT to Tuesday November 3 at 6 p.m. PDT, you can celebrate Halloween on Pokémon GO.

Galarian Yamask is coming!

The Galarian form of Yamask is making its first in-game appearance during this event. It's then possible to obtain it via a special Halloween-themed Research. Likewise, while carrying out some Field Research, you might encounter Spiritomb (then available in shiny)!

Pokémon appearing more often and costumed Pokémon

Throughout the event, Ghost-type Pokémon will spawn more often in the Wild, in Raids, and in Eggs.

In addition, some Pokémon will be costumed:

  • Costumed Gengar in Raids
  • Costumed Sableye in wild and in eggs

Other bonuses

  • Trainers who have completed the Mega Buddy Challenge Timed Research will be able to participate in an exclusive Timed Research that will grant you Gengar Mega Energy.
  • Darkrai will be available in Five Star Raids,
  • Halloween-themed Field Research will be available,
  • New avatar items will be available in the Style Shop: Pikachu Mask, Gengar Onesie, Sableye Goggles, Sableye Mask, or Banette Mask,
  • Transfer candies x2
  • Catch Candy x2

Other special events during Halloween

  • Alolan Marowak Raid Day — On Saturday, October 31, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Alolan Marowak will be appearing more often in raids.
  • Catch Mastery: Ghost Day — On Sunday, October 25, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, Ghost-type Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild and there will be event-exclusive Timed Research available to complete. More details here.
  • GO Battle League: Halloween Cup — From Monday, October 26, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) to Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8), the Halloween Cup will be live in the GO Battle League. In this format, only Poison-, Bug-, Ghost-, Dark-, and Fairy-type Pokémon with 1500 CP or less will be allowed to participate. You can also earn encounters with costumed Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle!!
