Epic Games offers a final breath of nostalgia in the Fortnite Item Shop. Until January 15, 2021, you can pick up the Throwback Axe for free. This harvesting tool is the first pickaxe in the history of the game — the original default appearance. You'll find it on the front page of the shop, in a bundle costing 0 V-Buck.
At the time of writing, several other original cosmetics are also on display. You'll find the Jonesy from the early days, the very first glider by default or the classic Falcon — a total return to Season 1. Except that these cosmetics will cost you in-game money.
According to some dataminers, this sudden reappearance of OG cosmetics isn't insignificant. It could be a clue to the next upheaval of the battle royale, and maybe to the return of the Chapter 1 island.
The return to the old map is a wish frequently expressed by a large part of the community. And as if by chance, a major event is about to seal the fate of the Season 4.
