After a year full of news and releases, it seems that Riot Games has no plans to slow down. The developer has several projects on the go, in the form of new titles, competitive events and development of the always-unfinished GaaS titles it manages. There is work ahead, but it seems that in addition to the projects we know about, we could be in for a to surprise.
This is the logical conclusion after seeing updates to the Justia database, which collects legal information from the United States and has revealed two new trademarks that have been registered by the developer.
The first is not too enigmatic, the listing under "VVVV" apparently being a project related to VALORANT. The specific nature of this project is still unknown, since it appears alongside four entries referring to clothing, competitions and broadcasts.
The second is registered only as "L". We do know that "Project L" is Riot's codename for their upcoming fighting game set in the League of Legends universe, so this could possibly be a sign that its release is nearer than we thought, or that we're about to find out a whole lot more.
As expected, Riot have made no further announcements, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they came out with more details early in the new year. After the confirmation of a League of Legends-based MMO, the hype surrounding Riot Games' future is sky high.
