Starting March 9, players with a Nintendo Switch will be able to install the free-to-play battle royale from Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends.
Game Director Chad Grenier published a post on the official website to announce the good news:
"Apex Legends will launch on Switch with support for cross-platform play, our latest seasonal content, and full feature parity with the other versions of the game. Plus, since we’re launching a few weeks after the start of Season 8, Switch players will be granted 30 free levels for their Season 8 Battle Pass. For the first two weeks after launch, playing on Switch will also earn you double XP."
"Apex Legends will be released on Switch with full cross-platform game support, integration of the latest seasonal content and features identical to other versions of the game.", he added.
With this launch comes the release of a PowerA controller in the colors of the game. We don't know its release date yet, or even where it will be available.
What about a mobile version?
A mobile version is in preparation and should be released between March 2021 and March 2022 — at least that's what TitanfallBlog said on Twitter following Chad Grenier's announcement.
The time frame is quite big but the publisher apparently wants to launch the project smoothly within the next few months.
A beta is likely to emerge with the potential of this version to be a game in its own right, like Fortnite Mobile or PUBG Mobile.
