Call of Duty publisher Activision has revealed that Warzone has reached 100 million players since the battle royale launched back in March 2020.
Since launch, the free-to-play title has taken the battle royale genre by storm, cementing its place as one of the most popular battle royale titles alongside the likes of Apex Legends, Fortnite, and PUBG.
The announcement comes just hours before the beginning of Season 3 which will see a brand-new iteration of Verdansk set in the 1980s make its long-awaited debut alongside a wealth of new content ranging from new Operators to new additions to Warzone's weapon arsenal.
Despite the constant battle against cheaters and the numerous bugs and exploits that appear on a regular basis, Warzone has struck a chord within the Call of Duty franchise, providing high-octane gameplay the first-person shooter franchise is synonymous with alongside a unique take on battle royale.
It's more than likely that the player count will continue to rise. Will it hit two hundred million players by this time next year? We will have to wait and see!
