Natus Vincere has claimed its second trophy of 2021. After the squad grabbed gold at the BLAST Premier: Global Final in January, they added another trophy to their cabinet last weekend as they won the CS:GO DreamHack Masters Spring.
The road to victory was one with ups and downs for Na'Vi, who had trouble finding their footing consistently. In the Group Stage of the event, Na'Vi overcame mousesports and Virtus.Pro, but lost the seeding game versus Gambit Esports 2-1. The Playoffs were a back-and-forth for the team too, as they dropped their first game against FURIA but then dominantly won two maps in return. Heroic gave Na'Vi a harder time, also winning the first map but keeping the subsequent games close as well.
The grand finals were anything but a close affair, however. Though Na'Vi did almost allow Gambit to come back on Train, the series was closed out with a comfortable 3-0 score. With highlight performances throughout the entire tournament, as has become the standard over the past years, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev was crowned MVP of the event.
Aside from the trophy and glory, Na'Vi takes home a $100,000 USD first prize.
