Dates and places

  • Play-In: October 2–5 and October 7-8 at the LEC Studio, Berlin
  • Group Stage: October 12–20 at the Verti Music Hall, Berlin
  • Quarter-Finals: October 26-27 at the Palacio Vistalegre, Madrid
  • Semi-Finals: November 2 and 3 at the Palacio Vistalegre, Madrid
  • Grand Final: November 10 at the AccorHotels Arena, Paris


The Play-In phase will take place in Berlin, in Riot Games studios that usually host the League of Legends European Championship, the LEC. The Play-In phase will host 12 teams who will compete for one of four qualifying spots for the World Championship Main Event.

The regions that will participate in the Play-In are:

  • CBLOL (Brazil)
  • LCL (Russia)
  • 3rd Seed LCK (South Korea)
  • 3rd Seed LCS (North America)
  • 3rd Seed LEC (Europe)
  • 3rd Seed LMS (Taiwan)
  • 3rd Seed VCS (Vietnam)
  • LJL (Japan)
  • LLA (Latin America)
  • OPL (Australia)
  • LST (South East Asia)
  • TCL (Turkey)

Group phase

After the Play-In phase, the group phase will be held in Berlin at the Verti Musical hall. Divided into four groups of four, the world's top 16 teams (the 4 Play-In teams + the 12 automatically qualified teams) will compete from 12 to 20 October to win one of the eight qualifying places in the final phase.

The 12 teams automatically qualified are:

  • 1st Seed LCK (South Korea)
  • 2nd Seed LCK (South Korea)
  • 1st Seed LCS (North America)
  • 2nd Seed LCS (North America)
  • 1st Seed LEC (Europe)
  • 2nd Seed LEC (Europe)
  • 1st Seed LPL (China)
  • 2nd Seed LPL (China)
  • 3rd Seed LPL (China)
  • 1st Seed LMS (Taiwan)
  • 2nd Seed LMS (Taiwan)
  • 1st Seed VCS (Vietnam)

Quarter-finals & Semi-finals

The eight teams that will emerge from the trap of the group phase will compete in a direct elimination tree at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid, Spain to earn their place in the grand final.

  • Quarter-finals: Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October
  • Semi-final: Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November

Grand Final

The grand final of the 2019 edition of the World Championships will put the two best teams in the world against each other on November 10 at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris.

Ticket information will be available soon. As a reminder, the 2020 and 2021 World Championships will be held in China and North America respectively.
