While many Genshin Impact players are still deep in exploring Inazuma, the game is already heading towards Patch 2.1. There new update will introduce new characters, quests, and featured additions - here's everything miHoYo revealed in their special livestream.
When will Genshin Impact Patch 2.1 be available?
Players still have time to catch up with the events of 2.0, with Patch 2.1 scheduled to go live on September 1, 2021. This includes attempting to get new characters Yoimiya and Sayu through their banners.
In addition, several events will remain available to continue playing until the new content arrives.
The Theater Mechanicus event is live until August 26, while the new Phantom Flow event gets under way on August 20 and lasts until August 30.

Genshin Impact 2.1: New Characters
Kujou Sara
Four-star Electro
Sangonomiya Kokomi

Raiden Shogun (Baal)

Aloy
As additional content, the five-star Cryo character Aloy will be offered to all PS4 and PS5 players in Update 2.1.
PC and mobile players will have to wait until 2.2 to receive the Horizon Zero Dawn star.
Two new banners will be released for the new characters, with Kujou Sara and Raiden Shogun on one, and Sangonomiya Kokomi on the other.
Aloy is earned just by logging in.
With all new banners, there will also be new weapons on offer.
These include the five-star Engulfing Lightning polearm and Everlasting Moonglow catalyst, and the four-star Luxurious Sea-Lord claymore (a fish) and The Catch polearm.
Genshin Impact 2.1: Other Features
In addition to the new banners and Battle Pass, other new features will be introduced with Patch 2.1:
New Bosses
- World Bosses: Hydro Hypostasis and Thunder Manifestation
- Weekly Boss: La Signora, 8th Fatui Harbinger
Events
- Moonlight Merriment: An event tied to Kequing, you must search for treasures and Festival Oculi in Liyue, Mondstadt and Dragonspine.
- Hyakunin Ikki: Defeat the enemies within the time limit in each stage and exchange the points you earn for rewards.
- Spectral Secrets: Earn special rewards for sending your characters on expedtions.
- Bonuses on the first purchase of Primogem bundles will be reset.
- A new Log-In Event with rewards - including 10 free Acquaint Fates.
Inazuma
- Acts 2 and 3 of Inazuma's main story will be unlocked.
- Two new areas of Inazuma will open up in the 2.1 update: Kaiyojima and Seiraijima.
New Fishing System
Patch 2.1 sees a new fishing system introduced, allowing us to hunt marine animals in the waters of Teyvat.
Players can choose between using catches in creating dishes, earning rewards, or in creating ponds in your Teapot.
In addition, the Lunar Realm event will centre around fishing, for even more rewards.
