With the release of Lost Ark for free many players started their adventures and to be honest, even with only the founders, some servers had it pretty rough. The Lost Ark staff was really reactive though and continued to add new servers along the way to better limitate the amount of queue time.
With the opening of the free to play versions of the game, and to avoid further congestion the devs have decided to block the character creation on some of the servers, directing new players to the less populated servers.
Here is the complete announcement from the Lost Ark Staff:
"Earlier today, we put a limit on the creation of characters by new players on servers that have reached large queue times. This will aid in preventing queues from increasing further as our player base continues to grow. If you already have a character on one of these servers, you will still be able create additional characters for your Roster. This character creation limit will remain in place for the foreseeable future, and we will provide an update when it is eventually removed. You can read full details on which servers have character creation limits in place on our dedicated forum post."
While we have no idea yet of when this limit will be removed, some players might be uncapable of playing with friends currently on those servers. It remains to see how the devs will manage this issue in the near future.
