MiHoYo is working hard to mark the video game industry with its seal. The company, which has already doubled its number of developers since 2014, has big plans for the future. And if Genshin Impact appears for the time being as the jewel in the crown, it may well be that the latter is actually only a "prototype", in the words of the CEO of miHoYo, Cai Haoyu. The publisher's ambition is to create a virtual world capable of simultaneously interconnecting 1 billion people .
Examples of Sword Art Online and Ready Player One
Virtual reality and the interconnection between players are concepts that appeal a lot to miHoYo, which announced last month the birth of the HoYoverse project, the code name of its future "playful metaverse".
Curiously, and even if these metaverses aren't all good, Sword Art Online and Ready Player One were chosen as examples by the company. By 2030 , miHoYo plans to create a virtual reality world, on which players can " live " in many ways (this is the verb used by Cai Haoyu).
Open world, and more if you like
According to the CEO of MiHoYo, Genshin Impact is a "prototype", a working base for the rest of the company's projects. Not only does the game represent a significant financial windfall for the company, but it is also a magnificent open world, which will undoubtedly serve as a source of inspiration for the next metaverse made in miHoYo.
The publisher has already indicated an expansion of its technological development, through the opening of new premises in Montreal, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul.
