Riot Games continues its work cleaning up and improving animations in League of Legends. Orianna's VFX (visual effects) tweaks are already on the PBE, but they won't be the only ones. Sirhaian, one of Riot's top visual effects specialists, has just released visual changes to Leona's abilities.
A 3D model left on the tile
All particles will undergo modifications, so the champion, whose 3D model will not be improved, will have much better abilities . In the video below, posted by Sirhaian himself, you can see all the tweaks and new features.
Here's what the Rioter said in a Reddit post: "As with previous visual effects updates we've done in the past (Vel'Koz, Zilean, Syndra, etc.), we're working on updating visual effects (VFX) of champions whose spell effects need some clarity. Our goal is to bring their visual effects up to current League standards and improve the clarity of the game. This time, it's Leona's turn, for the 12.7" patch .
The Season 12 launch video, The Calling , was used as reference for these changes: "This visual effects update is minor and is simply intended to clean up some of Leona's old base visual effects, in bringing them closer to how they looked in the Calling cinematic."
Base skins will be affected, along with several of the older ones such as Pool Party, PROJECT, or Grill Queen. In addition to the flames that now emanate from his sword and shield, here are the skill changes:
- Passive: Visual Cleanup
- A: New stun effect
- Z: When the upgrade is available, new light beams are added. There is also a new explosion
- E: New Projectile
- A: New cast animation
