Season 2 of Chapter 3 of Fortnite has just begun, and already important rumors are swelling about the next episode of the Battle Royale. Indeed, during the very recent Unreal Engine 5 showcase, several observers spotted mentions of Darth Vader in Fortnite files. The cult character from the Star Wars saga could therefore well arrive on Fortnite as a skin, during the next season of the game. All this is obviously to be taken with a grain of salt, but the news would have something to embolden a horde of fans. , especially since the theory stands, since it is corroborated by several other leaks.
Fortnite and Star Wars nothing new
The universe of Georges Lucas has already set foot on the island of Fortnite in the past. In December 2019, a live event featuring Star Wars starships and characters took place at Risky Reels, right on the island. A cohort of skins stamped Star Wars had then swept over the Battle Royale. Kylo Ren, Finn, Rey... The list is still growing and even contains some gliders like the W-wing or the Millennium Falcon !
On the gameplay side, Fortnite had inherited lightsabers, which served as collection tools or melee weapons. However, many early fans were somewhat disappointed by this crossover, since it did not feature the franchise's best-known characters. The presence of Darth Vader in the next season should therefore satisfy the latter, who had remained unsatisfied during the very first collaboration.
The hypothesis of a new Darth Vader skin is not to be taken lightly, since it is not the first Star Wars element that has appeared on the radar of dataminers in recent weeks. For several patches already, the lightsabers seem to suffer from changes in the files. And even in the latest version 20.10, implemented this week, the Sabers still received new visual effects. Why would Epic Games bother to rework these weapons if it's to leave them in the closet?
Especially since May 4 (May The Fourth), the date of celebration of the Star Wars universe, is fast approaching . If you're a Star Wars fan, you should keep an eye out for Fortnite over the coming weeks. We never know.
