Riot Games will introduce new features to its systems in the next League of Legends patch. New challenges or customization will be highly appreciated by a large part of the community. However, the highlight that many players will appreciate the most is not so much related to these new features. We're talking about a very noticeable change that will focus on the endgame screen and improve the interface. In this way, we will be able to have much more data on our performance and that of our teammates and opponents.
The new League of Legends endgame screen
The change that all players will notice the fastest after playing a game in the upcoming 12.9 patch will be a new addition. As soon as you complete a match, you will be able to see the progress you have made. LP, experience, mastery or even completed challenges and our progress with the eternals will be displayed before arriving at the most important section. In short, this addition will give us a summary of what we achieved in the last game.
However, the climax will come right after. Once you have passed this new screen and the honor roll, you arrive at the game summary. It is a very similar interface to the one we know so far, but it presents the information in a way much more detailed. The current system is barely able to display the scoreboard, gold gain, items, and minions killed. However, with this new version, there will be a lot of new things in the statistics.
Here are the additions offered by Riot Games:
- the position played (in the modes concerned)
- the KDA
- a column that alternates between damage dealt to champions, damage taken from champions, healing/shields given, and crowd control score
- the gold gained column also displays the number of minions killed
- a column that shows the challenge in which each player has made the most progress
- Honor is also displayed, since your teammates can honor you after you have already passed the progress board
Of course, navigating the new endgame screen will be easier and more engaging for most players. Riot Games has had issues in the past with some League of Legends designs prioritizing looks over function. However, this case seems to be one of the rare occasions when the community and the company agree that the changes made have made the game more interesting. Also, this is just the first step in an improvement that also touches on customization and includes challenges.
