But what has happened in the video game world in recent hours? If you are a consumer of social networks of all kinds, and here more particularly Twitter, you must have realized that Grand Theft Auto 6 was at the top of searches. Yes but now, still no game on the horizon, why?
Gamers are panicking after an incident on the Rockstar Games site
It was indeed this morning with us in France that the Rockstar Games site then displayed something unusual: a completely black background , thus preventing access to all the tabs of the site, and in particular to the news of its various titles like GTA 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2.
However, despite this black image which suggested that it was neither more nor less than a bug, all of Rockstar Games' online services displayed green, however, with the possibility of playing online... Subsequently, clever little guys then dug into the source code of the studio's site and thus discovered that this famous black image would have been put not by mistake but indeed by choice .
As you will have understood, it did not take more for fans of the franchise, but also some influencers, to panic on social networks and therefore suggest that Rockstar Games was about to unveil a good time for any GTA 6 . This hypothesis was quite plausible since, several years ago, when GTA 5 was revealed, the developers had proceeded in the same way, with a completely black screen and then the announcement of the title.
Yes but here it is! The cold shower unfortunately took place, as we could easily imagine, when the site returned to normal , displaying all of its content as if nothing had happened. Despite this quack which has given rise to the wildest hypotheses, Rockstar's official Twitter account has still not, at the time of writing, made a statement in relation to this incident. A question then arises, real bug, or calculated incident?
An incident without being one?
Although the site is back to normal, we are still entitled to ask ourselves some questions... Was this famous incident a real bug not controlled by Rockstar? Or is this a completely voluntary manipulation on the part of the developers in order to introduce certain data which would still not be visible to us as players?
Anyway, we won't find out more today, but hopefully perhaps in the days to come with the GTA 6 reveal that is increasingly overdue.
