As all Elden Ring players know, the graphics and visuals of FromSoftware's latest game are beyond polished and are, in many cases, breathtaking. This is also the case with their trailers, which reflect the totally epic aspect of the game. But while we thought the promotion of Elden Ring was completed, Bandai Namco unveiled a brand new live-action trailer last Monday. , with a celebrity!
A UFC star invites himself to the Entre-terre
Israel Adesanya is a true UFC star. He became the interim middleweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in April 2020 and the category champion in October 2019. Perseverance and courage are his main values. These correspond totally to souls-like, and to Elden Ring in particular because, after 50 tries on Malenia, knowing how to be persistent is more than useful.
The crossover between the UFC fighter and FromSoftware's latest game was therefore more than obvious, and a live-action trailer has thus appeared.
It is therefore a message full of hope "when you fall, do not lose hope" , that Israel Adesanya delivers to us. However, this is not the first live-action trailer with a celebrity that the company publishes on its Youtube channel. Previously, it was Ming-Na Wen (The Mandalorian, The Book of Bobba Fett) who had invited herself to the Underworld, through the Elden Ring promotional video. Who knows who will be the next inspiring figure to promote the production of FromSoftware?
Why a trailer now?
This is a question that it is quite legitimate to ask, why Bandai Namco unveil a trailer for a game released four months ago now? There can be different reasons.
-
To revive the hype
FromSoftware's latest game was released a few months ago and the whole community senses that the hype is naturally running out of steam. The fact that it has already lasted so long proves that Elden Ring is definitely one of the top games of the year. However, the trend can't last too long and after a while, if the game doesn't see any DLC and/or big announcements, the community will walk away from it. It is therefore possible that this trailer was intended to revive the enthusiasm of the players.

Upstream of a DLC, a big announcement
For this theory, it is always about hype. It is quite possible that the Bandai Namco teams wanted to relaunch the Elden Ring trend in order to prepare players for a big announcement soon (why not a DLC), and thus reach a larger number of spectators.
These are just theories, and we will have to wait wisely before having news of a potential DLC, or additional content. Either way, the Elden Ring hype isn't going away anytime soon , as the game will no doubt have a presence at The Game Awards 2022, where it will have to compete against the big year-end release, God of War Ragnarok. One thing is certain, Elden Ring still has many good years ahead of it!
